Town travelled to Waldon this week. Playing an 8-a-side game Town opted for a 2-4-1 formation. The first half was all Town with some neat interplay and great football at times. Harry (Hingston) and Thomas were solid at the back limiting the home side to a single worthwhile shot in the first half, but Callum in goal was equal to it pushing the ball wide with a great save. Jack continued to pull the strings in midfield with Harry and Matt getting many shots in but the Waldon keeper stood firm. Half time came with Town having had much the better of an entertaining game but failing to capitalise on their pressure.
Town made changes in the second half with Joe coming into defence, Cameron to add his pace wide on the right and Liam up front. Jay continued to patrol the midfield areas and Rhys showed his boundless energy box to box. As the half went on Town made their pressure count with Liam getting a lucky scuff and superb chip past the keeper to put Town into what looked like a commanding lead. However after multiple changes in personnel Town lost their shape and control of the game and allowed Waldon a couple of chances which were well taken to equalise the scores. In fact Joe pulled off heroics trapping the ball on the line aganst the post and clearing to safety.
So the game ended in frustration for Town who drew a game they should really have won - the potential is definitely there. Special mention to Liam, scoring twice, and Rhys making debuts for the Reds but man of the match went to Thomas for a superb defensive performance with the pace to attack down the left.
